World of Hope Benefit
Brooks & Dunn tore it up onstage
at the Republican National Convention last night - and are all over
the prestigious New York Times this morning, who celebrate "Only In
America" as "a brawny fistful of electric guitar chords and lyrics
that pay tribute to a country where 'we all get a chance, everybody
gets to dance...'." But for all the hub-bub and all that, the 4-time
Entertainers of the Year were taken by the man who introduced the
charity at the World of Hope benefit after the convention proper had
wrapped up.
"Bono was incredibly informed about the reality of healthcare around
the world," says Ronnie Dunn. More!

Brooks & Dunn' Garner 4 CMA Nominations & Will Host
"Country Music's Biggest Night"
--Entertainer, Duo, Producer &
Album of the Year for Red Dirt Road--
Nashville: Though they're seemingly perennials in the Entertainer and
Duo of the Year category, Brooks & Dunn's deeply personal Red Dirt
Road -- whose title track was nominated for Song and Video of the
Year at last year's Country Music Association Awards -- picked up an
Album of the Year nomination in the highly competitive category, as
well as the pair joining co-producer Mark Wright in being recognized
as producers. And is if that weren't enough for the
27-million-selling duo, the men who embody the heart of Saturday
night were also tapped to host "The 38th Annual Country Music
Association Awards," broadcast live on CBS on Tuesday November 9.

Kix Brooks Gets His Kicks - Whether
He Wanted To Or Not
It's not every day that Kix Brooks will get
slammed into the business end of a donkey, but the "Indianapolis
Star" reports that's exactly what happened at the Indiana State Fair
last Friday. As the story goes, Kix was at the annual donkey races
and came up with the bright idea of climbing aboard a cart for a
race, just for fun. But somebody forgot to tell the donkey, which
took off without warning and made an unexpected turn to the right -
speeding straight for a brick wall in front of the grandstand.
Fortunately, Kix was able to bail at the last minute, though he
ended up slamming into a mule standing near the finish line. In the
end, his jeans were ripped up, but Kix wasn't injured. Though a
local TV station did catch all the action on tape. Never one to let
a situation get the best of him, however - Kix later saddled up a
donkey for another race.

Video for Current
Single Goes On The Road
Nashville: When Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks heard
"That's What It's All About," the current single they knew it was a
song about the things that truly matter. But when the 4-time
Entertainers of the Year really took a close at the song and what it
celebrates, they recognized it spoke pretty deeply about the price
one pays to live their dreams. and decided that it made sense to
film a video that showed the juxtaposition of how own earns their
living and what lies closest to one's heart.

What's An Extra 10,000
Between Friends?
Having Coors build a special one-time only stage
on the beach at Camp Pendleton to entertain 35,000 Marines on their
way to or from active duty in Iraq seemed like the least Ronnie Dunn
and Kix Brooks could do to salute the men and women serving our
country. But when you get an act like Brooks & Dunn -- along with
their special guests Rascal Flatts and Steve Holy -- doing something
big and unprecedented, you can always count on it getting even
bigger than anyone imagined.

America -- Brooks & Dunn Take The Beach!

possible. So this Monday, Aug 2, a crew will break sand on the beach
at Camp Pendleton to build a stage from the ground up and out --
complete with video walls -- to let 30,000+ Marines and their
