BROOKS & DUNN LIKED THE FEEL OF A BIG CROWD FOR CMA AWARD
According to The Duo of the Year, Brooks & Dunn they felt one of the benefits of
taking the CMA Awards show to New York was the size of the Madison
Square Garden venue for the show. “The energy in the Garden was amazing.
There is a big difference between how a crowed at the Opry is, there’s
the difference between 2500 industry professionals and 12,000 people.
You felt that “fan” factor going on in there and for performers that’s
really a good thing,” says Kix. |

Brooks & Dunn Mark The
Marquis
New York: In all the years Madison Square Garden has graced
Manhattan, no artist has ever mounted the marquis to play. So when
Brooks & Dunn took the
sign outside one of America's flagship venues, they did so with a
vengeance and a searing honky tonk attack -- not just lodging a pretty
impressive first for the building, but planting a flag for perhaps the
most iconic genre of music in this country.

WHERE THE SQUARE HAS NO
NAME
Brooks & Dunn Brings Hillbilly Deluxe To The
Marquis@ Madison Square Garden
New York City: Having rocked Irving Plaza as only Brooks & Dunn can,
it makes sense the 4-time Entertainers of the Year would want to leap a
tall building in a single bound. But given that the honky tonk
superheroes also wanted to sport their guitars while doing it, Ronnie
Dunn and Kix Brooks have settled for the next best thing: playing the
marquis at Madison Square Garden, where the 30-million-record-sellers
and their great big band are gonna tie up traffic and give Times Square
the full-tilt juke joint treatment.

BROOKS & DUNN HONKY TONK
NEW YORK
New York City: They know and understand you "Can't Take The
Honky Tonk Out of the Girl," the merits of a "Hillbilly Deluxe" and the
jettisoning trajectory that comes from the mandate to "Play Something
Country," so it's no wonder Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks -- heading to New
York for the swirl and whirl around the "39th Annual Country Music
Association Awards," which they're hosting for the second year - have
decided to kick up a little jukejoint dust to blow out the carbs.
