BROOKS & DUNN GETS

Stone's Fans Impressed!
Review by Dean Goodman
Whoever decided to hire Brooks & Dunn as the opening act should get a
medal as the country superstars rocked a packed arena, creating a
palpable buzz before the Stones came on. Mick & Co. maintained the
energy level during a set most notable for a sublime version of “As
Tears Go By.” They also played four songs from “A Bigger Bang” – alas,
nothing new. more |

Brooks & Dunn Roll The
Stone(s) Away
It's been a long time since 4-time Entertainers of the Year
Brooks & Dunn - once hailed by USA Today for heralding "the return of
macho country" with their Neon Circus & Wild West Show tours -- have
opened for anyone, but…Sunday night at Omaha, Nebraska's Qwest Center,
Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks took the stage to open for the Rolling
Stones.
"It felt a lot like one of our crowds -- people were dancing and singing
along," says Dunn of the vocal chords that can reduce a melody into
direct emotional current. "It looked a lot like our crowds, except
everyone was wearing t-shirts with these open mouths with tongues
rolling out of them." . more |

Brooks & Dunn Know How To
ROCK
OMAHA, Neb. -- Don't let the jeans and cowboy hats fool you.
Brooks & Dunn know how to rock.
At first, it seems odd that a band synonymous with rock music would
invite a country group to open for them. But after listening to the
chart-topping country duo's 45-minute set at Sunday's (July 29) sold-out
Rolling Stones concert at the Qwest Center Omaha, it's clear that the
pairing of Brooks & Dunn and the Stones is a combination that works. more |
