Muskogee Woman Stands for Over 79 Hours to Win Brooks & Dunn Tickets

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (Monday, September 29, 2003) --After more than 79 hours, Jodi Reheard gave up the fight for front row Brooks & Dunn tickets. She walked off the rain-slicked “Red Dirt Road” at 3:38 p.m. Monday. Left standing as the winner of the “Survive the Red Dirt Road” contest was Stormie Brassfield, a 38 year-old home health aid and mother with barely enough voice and energy to celebrate her victory. She did, however, manage to give her cheering section a thumbs-up.

The two women were the last of twelve contestants who competed for front row VIP tickets to see Brooks & Dunn live at the 7th Annual Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Induction Concert on November 20th at the Muskogee Civic Center. Also up for grabs to the first place “survivor” was a flat screen television with built-in DVD, a trip to Branson, a 30-minute massage, and a limo ride to the November 20th show.

“The stamina of both Stormie and Jodi is absolutely incredible,” said Shelly Burroughs, DJ for The All New Country 102.1. “Neither woman slept over the weekend and they stood on that red dirt road because they love Brooks & Dunn. Now that’s what I call a fan!”

Jodi Reheard didn’t walk off the road empty-handed; she too will be seeing Brooks & Dunn on November 20th, but her seat won’t be quite as close as Brassfield’s. Her surrender came as a surprise. The two women were walking in circles on the red dirt road and at 3:38 p.m., Reheard just kept walking straight, giving the victory to Brassfield.

A limited number of concert tickets to see Brooks & Dunn on November 20th are still available by calling (918) 687-0900 on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
