Brooks & Dunn Today Show Appearance

Brooks & Dunn Can't Take It Anymore 4-Time Entertainers of the Year Break Into "Today Weekend"

Nashville Airport: After everything but the locusts, Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks figured it was time for the "Today Show" people to come to them. And after a blackout that stopped a region, a pre-emption in the name of international sportsmanship and now a blizzard that's turned the Big Apple white, the 26-million selling duo were stranded at BNA once again.

Only this time, the producers from the weekend's top-rated weekend morning show decided to make lemonade from what was obviously lemons. And so they did what all smart tv people who know how to surf the moment do: they fired up the remote truck and beat a quick trail to the Nashville Airport, where our erstwhile hard chargers were high and dry -- and hilarious.

"Look, we can't help it if all the forces of the universe are aligned against us," joked Brooks. "It may take (noted comic book creator) Stan Lee to figure out how to get us up there, but we'll be there December 13, don't you worry."

"We must be serious," Dunn lamented. "We're out here at the airport, wondering if there's some kind of alternative routing. But you know... when the luck for New York is this bad, it can only mean one thing: a run on Vegas! And that's our last stop before New York City."

Shot amidst luggage, guitar cases and what have you, Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks were in fine moods in spite of the re-shuffle. And how could they not? A People's Choice and Grammy nomination for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group for "Red Dirt Road" picks up the momentum -- and there's still plenty of time to get right with Santa in Manhattan, as the heart of the Saturday night wakes up in NYC next Saturday morning for three rocking songs on "Today Weekend's outdoor concert series. Hand warmers not included.

"Hey, we're comin'...," threatened Brooks good-naturedly. "The lengths you guys'll go to -- pretty great getting a whole part of the country to put their lights out. And this natural disaster blizzard thing, now that is impressive. But you don't know us! Oh, yeah, we're coming...You just try to stop us."
