Hurricane Relief Starts At
Home
For Brooks & Dunn, hurricane relief starts at home. While her daddy is
on the road on the Deuces Wild Tour, 10-year-old Haley Dunn and four of
her friends decided to take fundraising into their own hands.
The girls set up a lemonade stand at the end of the driveway at Ronnie
Dunn's Williamson County estate. Haley put up two cardboard stand-ups of
her daddy and duo-partner Kix Brooks. The biggest business came from
busloads of country fans doing the tour of the stars' homes thing. In 2½
days this weekend the girls made $914.
"Once they start talking to Haley and her friends the fans get so choked
up they're practically handing over their wallets," proud father Ronnie
told me by phone yesterday. "I'm so proud of my little girl I could
die." Along with the $914, Brooks & Dunn are sending several
semitrailers loaded with cell phones, clothes and other supplies down to
Mississippi and Louisiana.
