SUPERSTARS BROOKS & DUNN
AND ALAN JACKSON ANNOUNCE A 2007 CO-HEADLINING TOUR
NASHVILLE, TN – It’s the ultimate country
powerhouse pairing as superstars Alan Jackson and Brooks & Dunn announce
their 2007 co-headlining tour, spanning nearly 30 coast-to-coast dates
from May through October, with the excitement kicking off May 10 in
Virginia Beach, VA.
[For more than 15 years,
these two GRAMMY-winning acts have laid the foundation for today’s
country music – collectively scoring more than 50 #1 singles, with album
sales approaching 80 million units. This year’s tour delivers an
incredible combination for the fans, teaming two of country music’s most
acclaimed and popular entertainers.
The most-awarded act in CMA and ACM history, superduo Brooks & Dunn
continue to demonstrate the freshness and dynamic energy that have made
them one of country music’s hottest acts, on the road and on the charts.
With more than 30 million albums sold, the duo delivered some of the
best music of their career with their most recent album, the
Platinum-certified Hillbilly Deluxe. The disc not only launched their
23rd #1 single, “Play Something Country,” but also their multi-award
winning smash, “Believe,” (co-written by Dunn) which swept four ACM and
CMA categories over the past year, including Song of the Year. For the
second year in a row, Toyota Tundra sponsors Brooks & Dunn.
Three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Alan Jackson topped the album
charts not once, but twice, in 2006, with the success of Precious
Memories and Like Red on a Rose. Like Red on a Rose was produced by
Alison Krauss, includes the current single, “A Woman’s Love,” and has
become one of the most critically lauded albums of Jackson’s career.
Jackson has earned his place as one of music’s most respected voices and
accomplished songwriters, having penned 21 of his 31 #1 singles,
including his Best Country Song GRAMMY winner, “Where Were You (When the
World Stopped Turning).” With more nominations than anyone in CMA
history, and album sales now in excess of 48 million, he continues to
solidify his place as the preeminent solo country artist of his
generation.
The tour will also feature opening acts Jake Owen and Catherine Britt.
One of the top-selling new male artists of 2006, Jake Owen toured with
such artists as Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Carrie Underwood, as he
was propelled into the spotlight with his smash single, “Yee Haw,” and
the current Top 30 title track from his RCA Nashville debut album,
Startin’ with Me.
Australian beauty Catherine Britt is on the airwaves with “What I Did
Last Night,” the first single from her upcoming RCA Nashville debut
album. A gifted songwriter and performer, Catherine’s arrival in Music
City inspired noted music writer Chet Flippo to praise her as “the most
talented newcomer to hit Nashville in years – period.”
The tour will run through October 21 in Orlando, with dates in cities
from Los Angeles to Albany, including stops in Chicago, Denver, Houston,
Dallas, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C.
